The first track, “BRAG,” from Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie’s upcoming “THE CHAMPIONSHIP” MIXTAPE, scheduled for release on May 24, has sparked a heated rivalry between the rap music scenes in Ghana and Nigeria.
Some of the words Sarkodie used in his BRAG record offended rappers in Ghana and Nigeria. The “OTAN” crooner seemed to be overclaiming, in the opinion of the majority.
Young Nigerian artist Aboriomoh Femi Raymond, better known as DREMO, released a record after Sarkodie’s “BRAG” song was released, criticizing Sarkodie for taking on his boss DAVIDO and CO in the new song.
According to an assertions made by popular Nigerian Content Creator Daniel Ragha, DREMO’s supposed diss song for Sarkodie By Dremo is just basic rhymes with zero punchline. “Just listened to Dremo’s supposed diss song for Sarkodie. Honestly speaking it’s just basic rhymes with zero punchline, no delivery or clever wordplay; Diss tracks ain’t for everyone, but regardless what happens it doesn’t take away the fact that Sarkodie is by far a superi¤r artiste. Hope he (Dremo) focuses on what’s really important, which is developing as an artiste. No shades”
Daniel rain praises on Sarkodie and tagged him as untouchable. “Sarkodie’s greatness is beyond Ghana, he’s a lyrical genius with almost an untouchable pen game; Only a few Nigerian rappers are at his level, but unf¤rtunately Dremo !sn’t one of ’em. Compare Sarkodie with the likes of M.I, not upcomers pls. No shades.”
Prolific young rapper Lyrical Joe, who hails from Ghana in West Africa, has responded to DREMO’s dissing of Sarkodie in a song. Lyrical Joe dominates X trends because a lot of people think his new song “1960” is the ideal response to Nigeria’s DREMO.
“Holla at your boy like Wizkid, don’t come at us with ’em feminine steeze in your voice. And if i ever flow like a b*tch it’ll be hot enough to put your starboy, Davido on his knees like please” – Lyrical Joe said in his song
