Today, February 8, 2024, is precisely six years after the talented Ghanaian dancehall queen Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, better known by her stage name Ebony, lost her life in a tragic accident.
The saddest news ever broke in the Ghanaian music industry on February 8, 2018, when Ebony Reigns, a popular musician, was killed instantly in a car accident while traveling from Sunyani to Accra following a visit to her mother. The soldier Atsu Vondee and her longtime friend and assistant Franklina Yaa Nkansah Kuri also perished in the tragic accident.
Music lovers everywhere have paused to celebrate Ebony, also known as 90sBadGyal on the various socials.
The late multiple hit singer’s family visits her grave annually to honor her in grand style. In honor of the singer, perfume is sprayed on Grace and lovely flowers are placed on the tomb during the visit.
Ebony’s father claims that these ceremonies will be held annually to honor Ebony Reigns until he, the father, passes away as well. Mr. Kwarteng continued by saying that there are arrangements in place to guarantee his late daughter’s celebration even after his passing.
Ebony gained recognition for her songs and stage presence in the Ghanaian music industry.
